Sketch Warehouse is now accepting submissions from writers based in the USA. Approved sketches will be made available for licensing to comedians, producers, theater groups, drama teachers, and event planners. Writers choose how much to charge per script page, and when a script is licensed, the writer will receive 70% of the license fee and Sketch Warehouse will receive 30% of the license fee. We’re always looking for new sketches, so there is no submission deadline. There is also no fee to submit your sketches. Writers retain the copyright to their work.
WHAT SHOULD I SUBMIT?
Sketches that are timeless, easy to stage, and appealing to a broad audience have the best chance of being approved. Before submitting a sketch, ask yourself these three questions: (1) Will my sketch still be funny and relevant in five, ten, or even twenty year from now? (2) Does my sketch require very basic props, costumes, and set pieces? (3) Could my sketch be staged in a big city, and just as easily in a small town?
ORIGINAL SKETCHES ONLY!
Sketch Warehouse recognizes the existence of joke thieves, and we don’t want any of that kind of thing going on around here. Let’s avoid lawsuits together, shall we? We welcome original sketch comedy script submissions only. Thank you for your cooperation.
HOW DO I SUBMIT MY SKETCHES?
Please send an email with interest to submissions@sketchwarehouse.com. We’ll follow up by sending you our writer questionnaire and writer agreement. Once we have those in place, you may send us your sketches for consideration!
